Audio Setup: 1. Open Preferences under the Live drop down menu. 2. Open the Audio tab. 3. Under Audio Input Device, chose TR-8 4. Under “Input Config,” enable mono inputs 3-14. 5. Close the Preferences menu.
Syncing to Ableton (If TR-8 is connected via USB) – Open Preferences – Open the MIDI SYNC tab – Change the OUTPUT: TR-8 SYNC option to ON. Clock messages will now be output from Ableton into your TR-8. If the TR-8 is connected via MIDI to an interface, simply turn the corresponding SYNC output ON in the same section.

5/24/2017 · Hi I have spent 2 days trying to figure this, How do I send midi clock start / stop messages from an ableton midi clip to a TR-8. The TR 8 will receive midi in sync but I want to be able start and stop the TR-8 sequencer from midi clips.
I’m sending midi clock via ableton to TR-8 and also mapped some TR-8 knobs (the two external in) to control parameters in ableton . But the TR-8 keeps sending midi clock back to ableton as well. Is there a way to avoid this to happen? Thanks a lot! Posted on October 25 2017 by Sal .
