There’s many methods of doing this. Some people recommend placing electronics that get wet into a bowl of rice to draw out any moisture. Another great recommendation is to place it in a warm, but not hot environment, such as an airing cupboard. This will slowly eradicate any moisture without damaging the electronics inside the AirPod.

Literally the same scenario on my end – except it was a bowl filled with water mixed with ranch sauce :(Took the airpod out, dried it out with compressed air (some water came out!) and then swapped with alcohol.
